It's been another rather busy week in Hollywood, so it's no surprise that Kiefer Sutherland and Christina Applegate have a bit of news to share with us all. No, they're not eloping or leaving families for each other, in fact, they're both in talks to star in some pretty big movie projects.
First up is Kiefer. The former 24 star and son of the legendary Donald is apparently in talks to take on the role of the villain in Paul W.S Anderson's upcoming epic, Pompeii. Yup, that's right they're making a movie about the volcano. Sure it was only ever a matter of time!First Showing says Game of Thrones star Kit Harrington will be leading the cast as a slave who falls in love with his master's daughter. There won't be much chance for the pair to start gallivanting across the class divide here though, because she'll be pawned off to an evil Roman Senator (enter Sutherland), who just so happens to have locked his best mate in a dungeon to boot. Oooh er.
As for Christina Veronica Corningstone Applegate, we hear she's in talks to star in, wait for it, a reboot slash sequel to the National Lampoon series. Yeah, minus Chevy Chase thus far. Blasphemy. Anyway, The Hollywood Reporter says the new movie will follow Clark Griswold's son Rusty (played by The Office's Ed Helms), as he sets off to recreate the holidays he went on as a kid. Applegate is slated to play his wife, who is rather strong willed and quite possibly staring to lose interest in her other half.
We're more excited to see her in Anchorman 2 though, to be honest.
