In a move that comes as a surprise to literally nobody, the massively successful Jurassic World has had its sequel confirmed.

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard have already signed on Jurassic World 2, and the film has been given a June 22nd 2018 release date.

Steven Spielberg will once again be the film's executive producers, with director Colin Trevorrow co-writing the screenplay with Derek Connolly, who was part of the screenwriting team for the original.

Seeing as Jurassic World grossed over $1.5 billion, becoming Universal Studios most successful film ever, and the third highest grossing film of all time, we can't say we're shocked. But with the success of the first, we might see a few less close-ups of Coca Cola bottles and Mercedes emblems this time around. Or not.
