Another exciting role for Joseph Gordon-Levitt is possibly in the works, as per Deadline. While we wait with baited breath to find out whether or not he'll don a spandex suit for Batman, we're now hearing rumours that he's top of the list for Marvel's forthcoming flick, Guardians of the Galaxy. Joe would be up for the lead role of Starlord Peter Quill in what Marvel are hoping will launch their next big franchise.

For those of you unfamiliar with the story, Deadline inform us that Quill is the leader of the Guardians, half human (his mother), half alien (his father). Based on a series that came to fruition in the 90s (after a brief first appearance sometime in the 60s) Quill leads a group of alien superheros who team to protect the solar system from an evil alien race. Standard good guys Vs bad guys stuff, similar to the Avengers.

Certainly something to look forward to. But will JGL reign supreme? He's going up against other hopefuls James Marsden, Chris Evans, Garret Hedlund and Joel Edgerton - quite the group of heavy hitters to say the least.
