A new clutch of big names have been added to the cast of 'Top Gun' sequel 'Top Gun: Maverick'.

Jon Hamm, Ed Harris and Lewis Pullman (son of Bill Pullman) have come on board the sequel to the iconic '80s movie, joining the likes of Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, Miles Teller and Jennifer Connolly.

It's not yet clear what their respective roles are, but as you may already know, the sequel follows the story of the son of Cruise's partner Goose from the original. Cruise is now an instructor at the Top Gun school and Goose's son - played by Miles Teller - is one of his students.

Charles Parnell, Jay Ellis, Bashir Salahuddin, Danny Ramirez and Monica Barbaro are also among the recently-named supporting cast.

The film, directed by Joseph Kosinski, is set for release in July 2019.
