We just can't get enough of Jaoquin Phoenix here in entertainment.ie; he's got more on-screen presence than most and obviously, he's a very talented actor. He stole our hearts when he stepped into the iconic shoes of Johnny Cash in Walk The Line and he'll no doubt strike gold again when he takes on the role of a naval veteran in the forthcoming Paul Thomas Anderson Scientology flick, The Master - currently making waves at the Venice Film Festival. What's more, we've just learned that the rumours are indeed true, Joaquin has signed on the dotted line to star in Her, along with Spike Jonze.

The official blurb tells us this: "In the not so distant future, Theodore (Joaquin Phoenix), a lonely writer purchases a newly developed operating system designed to meet the user’s every needs... To Theodore's surprise, a romantic relationship develops between him and his operating system. This unconventional love story blends science fiction and romance in a sweet tale that explores the nature of love and the ways that technology isolates and connects us all."

Falling head over heels for Siri? Unconventional indeed. Starring alongside Rooney Mara, Samantha Morton, Olivia Wilde and Amy Adams (love her) and you've got yourself one fine film (we assume). Excitement!
