Ubisoft Motion Pictures are going all out for a top class cast for their big screen adaptation of their own video game, The Division.

Jake Gyllenhall (who's also a producer on the project) had already been announced as the main lead but now comes the news that Oscar Nominee Jessica Chastain is in talks to join him

It's not yet known how close to the game's storyline the film adaptation will be. The game is set in dystopian New York City after a smallpox pandemic. The player is an agent of the Strategic Homeland Division, aka The Division, and is searching for the origins of the outbreak.

It's an intriguing enough premise so it's unlikely they'll stray too far from it. Ubisoft are packaging the project before taking it to movie studios, much like they did with the Michael Fassbender starring Assasin's Creed.

This will be the first time that Chastain has been involved with a video game franchise so it's unclear if she knows the abysmal track record video game adaptations have had to date. Gyllenhall on the other hand knows all the highs and lows involved after starring in The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
