Jay Z to score Baz Lurhmann's The Great Gatsby
As things heat up ahead of the release of The Great Gatsby - the most promising movie we've seen from Aussie director Baz Luhrmann, probably ever - this news makes it even more exciting. Set against the backdrop of the roaring 20s, music giant Jay Z is now confirmed to score the movie which no doubt adds a modern twist, similar in style to the scoring of Tarantino's Django Unchained.
Via Twitter, The Bullits have announced their collaboration with Beyonce's husband.
"Jay-Z and myself have been working tirelessly on the score for the upcoming ‚CLASSIC 'The Great Gatsby. It is too DOPE for words!" said Jeymes Samuel.
Jay will also compose a number of other scores to accompany the film. Exciting indeed, no better man for the job. You'll have to wait until May for Leonardo DiCaprio's next outing (and the rest of the star studded cast) but until then, enjoy the trailer.
