Um, we know Jason Statham can do movies about cars and transporting stuff, and we do love him, but a comedy? With Will Ferrell? Really? We wonder how that would have panned out.

Well nothing is in the pipeline per se, but the man who's bagged Rosie Huntington Whitely has admitted that he is a massive fan of the comedy genre and that he has big plans to go down that route. There was talk a while back of him joining up with King of Comedy, Ferrell, but that fell through. Blessing in disguise perhaps.

Then again, we weren't sure Channing Tatum'd ever be able to do comedy and he's just freakin' hilarious now, making his own viral videos about Channing all over our Tatums (whatever body part that refers to we'll leave up to your filthy imaginations) and what have you. The same went for Mark Wahlberg but turns out he can pull off both the serious stuff and the rofl-worthy fare with impressive finesse.

In an interview with the very cool GQ (big fans up in here), Statham expressed his keen interest in garnering himself a few laughs.

"Oh, yeah. I do like the Lethal Weapon type of action comedies that we love so much. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover, the Rush Hour ones... Action comedy, if you can get it right it is, for me, a particularly brilliant genre. It really is. There was a moment when I was - and I don't know if it's still around - but I was going to sit down with Will Ferrell and we were going to do something together like that... So if that ever came to fruition I would be very happy. I've never done an action comedy and I'd love to do one."

Perhaps if he keeps it within the realm of action, it'll open Statham up to a whole new wealth of movie possibilities.
