Sylvester Stallone has been in the news lately for very tragic reasons after the untimely death of his son, Sage. But it seems the actor, producer and director is taking his mind off things by getting back to work.

Stallone has The Expendables 2 due in a couple of weeks, and is lining up his next project and a very recognisable cast, according to Variety. Stallone will not star or direct - but produce from a script he has written - the action thriller Homefront. When I tell you that it stars Jason Statham as "Phil Broke an ex-DEA agent who moves his family to a quiet town hoping to escape his past. However, he finds the town to be overrun with violence, drug traffickers and an evil meth magnate named Gator." You'd think it was a typical Statham vehicle; then you realise that James Franco is attached to the villain role of Gator, which makes it almost instantly intriguing.

Franco is constantly taking risks with his career and genuinely attempting new and different things. I just hope this isn't another social experiment.
