Jared Leto's known for going hard on the whole "method" acting thing.

In Suicide Squad, he famously sent his co-stars dead rats and used condoms as gifts, thinking it was something like The Joker would do. For Dallas Buyer's Club, Leto dropped close to 40 pounds for Dallas Buyer's Club, and put on 67 pounds to play John Lennon murderer, Mark Chapman.

For Blade Runner 2049, Leto's character plays a tech genius called Neander Wallace, who has lost the use of his eyes - so no surprises for what Leto did. "He could not see at all," explained director Denis Villeneuve in an interview with WSJ Magazine.

"He was walking with an assistant, very slowly. It was like seeing Jesus walking into a temple... Everybody became super silent, and there was a kind of sacred moment. Everyone was in awe. It was so beautiful and powerful - I was moved to tears."

Look, he's wearing milky-eye contacts Denis Villenueve. It's not that much of a stretch. Leto, of course, is known for staying in character on and off set throughout production - so it's safe to assume he was blind the whole way through Blade Runner 2049.

Hey, if that's how hard he needs to go to get into character, so be it. Blade Runner 2049 hits Irish cinemas on October 6th.
