Love him or hate him, James Cameron is nothing if not ambitious. The man had his ground-breaking 3D film, Avatar, in the works for almost twenty years. He didn't put the film into production because the technology didn't exist at the time. And then he helped build some of the 3D cameras that are used today. After Avatar broke all kinds of box-office records and won pretty much every technical award out there, Cameron went into radio silence. That is, until now.
Speaking on Reddit's AMA (Ask Me Anything) section last night, James Cameron spoke about where he is with the proposed Avatar sequels. "The second, third and fourth films all go into production simultaneously," Cameron announced. He went to explain that they are currently designing creatures, characters and worlds that will span all three films and that his biggest pressure so far is cutting the film's length down that's affordable. "There hasn't been a problem finding new and wonderful things to include in the movie."
When asked if he'd re-team with Arnold Schwarzenegger again, Cameron pretty much knocked it on the head. "I don't see a role as the scripts are coming together that would be appropriate for him, so I would say probably not."
It might be because the Governator's too busy crushing things with tanks.
