He was left shaken, not stirred.

Alan Cumming memorably played Boris Grishenko, a Russian computer expert who met his maker after being fatally frozen by computer coolant in Pierce Brosnan’s 'GoldenEye'. We bloody hate it when that happens.

Now the Scottish actor has revealed to Entertainment Weekly that the infamous death scene didn’t quite go as planned and he ended up getting burned during filming. Luckily there was firefighters on hand to help him out.

"When I was shooting it I had a strap thing around me that held me so I couldn't move when all the stuff started to fall,” he said. "When all that big thing fell on me, there were some big lumps of liquid ice, liquid nitrogen at the bottom of the thing, and it landed on my head and I couldn't move. It started burning my head.”

"So I was like 'Aaaaaaah!' and they were like, 'Quick, get out of the way' and I was like, 'I can't move! And then all these firemen came rushing on to the set and put my hair out," he said.

Cumming also revealed that he’s constantly asked to perform his infamous dance from ‘Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion.’ Remind yourself of it here:

“I just think they think it’d be a hilarious thing, it’s worth an ask, I might do it, but [it’s] people I don’t know,” he laughed.

Cumming is currently starring CBS’ ‘Instinct’ and is due to appear alongside Jodie Whitaker in the new series of Doctor Who on BBC. Let’s hope he steers clear of the, eh, computer coolant this time.
