Video game adaptations seem to be getting another lease of cinematic life with Warcraft and Assassin's Creed both opening this year. Now, another has attached a strong name.

Tom Clancy's The Division is from Ubisoft and bowed a few months back. It's set in a dystopian New York City after an outbreak of smallpox. The game made $330 million in its first 5 days of release, so obviously peaked the interest of Hollywood.

Jake Gyllenhaal is looking to headline as well as produce the cinematic version, giving the project an instant density. He's one of the best young actors working in Hollywood and isn't afraid to take dramatic risks.

No director is attached and producers are currently searching for a scribe to adapt the film, so it's still early stages. But if Warcraft and Creed hit, expect this one to move quickly.
