The Boardwalk Empire and American Hustle actor has joined an already impressive cast including the likes of Robert de Niro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci and Harvey Keitel. No pressure Jack.

The Netflix-acquired crime epic is based on a book with a catchy title- ‘I Heard You Paint Houses: Frank ‘The Irishman’ Sheeran and the Inside Story of the Mafia, the Teamsters, and the Final Ride by Jimmy Hoffa’ is the story of a notorious hitman as told by Charles Brandt. The script was written by Steve Zaillian.

De Niro will play ‘Irishman’ Frank Sheeran while Pacino takes on the role of Jimmy Hoffa, the teamsters president whose disappearance remains a mystery to this day. It is still unclear what role Huston will play.

Scorsese has also acquired the services of Bobby Cannavale and Ray Romano, two actors he worked with on HBO’s Vinyl.

The Irishman is tentatively slated for a 2019 release.
