JJ Abrams grants fan's dying wish with private Star Trek screening.

Well it sure is nice to know there's still people out there who'll go out of their way to do a good deed and spread a little happiness. In a story to warm the cockles of your heart this morning, director JJ Abrams has granted the dying wish of one of his movie's most loyal fans by screening the brand new Star Trek: Into Darkness movie for him and his wife alone.

Friends of the terminally ill 'Dan' reached out to Abrams to share his story and thankfully for them, he responded once he became aware of the internet campaign. As per a post on Reddit, Dan has been suffering with a number of types of cancer over the last few years and by now has only a number of weeks left to live. He's been described as a huge Star Trek fan and movie buff.

Our thoughts are with Dan and his family.
