In non Screen Actor's Guild related news this morning, another Irish project has scooped a prize at the Sundance Film Festival. Known widely as the Oscars for those in the independent film business, a well deserved gong for editing has gone to film editor Ben Stark for his work on Nick Ryan's documentary The Summit.

The Summit charts the story of Irish climber Ger McDonnell who died tragically whilst attempting to climb K2. Speaking to Dublin's 98FM, producer Olivia Leahy explained why she believed The Summit piqued the judges interest: by "telling the story from each of the climbers' points of view, and keeping the emotion in it, that people died on the mountain that day, as well as all the controversies."

Fair play to Stark, Ryan and everyone else involved; another impressive string to the bow of Irish filmmaking.
