Devon Murray, who played Seamus Finnegan in the Harry Potter, has been ordered by the High Court to pay his former agent, Neil Brooks, a total of €260,000 in owed commission fees following a lengthy trial.

The court heard how Devon Murray, now 27, earned close to €1.2 million throughout his time with the franchise and had made several demands to his agent. These included demanding a full apartment in London instead of a five-star hotel and his own driver to bring him to the set. During filming, Murray was photographed smoking on set which caused a small amount of controversy for the actor and the production.

Murray was 13 at the time when the photo was taken. When the photo was leaked to the press, Murray's parents called Brooks in South Africa, who was caring for his seriously-ill sister. Brooks said that the responsibility for Devon's behaviour lay with the guardian of the child, whilst Murray's parents believed that the agent did not do enough to protect him from the adverse publicity.

The court also heard how Murray had spent his earnings on women, drink, cars and a house which Devon later had to rent out whilst he returned home to his parents. Devon's parents were representing themselves during the case.

Judge Michael Moriarty ruled in favour of Neil Brooks, awarding him his lost commission fees and legal costs.
