Ireland's finest movie stars unite for satirical Irish radio play.
You can take the movie stars out of Ireland, but you can't take Ireland out of the movie stars. No matter how successful these guys become, it warms our hearts to know they'll always make time for the motherland. Teaming up for the final installment in a radio play trilogy on RTÉ Radio 1, After Life (directed by John Boorman) brings together the talent of Brendan Gleeson, Saoirse Ronan, Stephen Rea, Angeline Ball and Susan Fitzgerald. Speaking to RTÉ Ten, the Hannah actress said of the play that satirizes modern Ireland: "It's called After Life, it's written by John Boorman. I play an angel who appears to Angeline Ball's character who is in heaven and trying to stay in touch with her husband... It's an amazing cast; Brendan Gleeson is in it, Stephen Rea, my dad [Paul] is in it as well so it's been lovely. It's been fun and it's been nice seeing everyone today."
If you want to experience the aural pleasure of these voices together, tune in to RTE Radio 1 this Sunday at 8pm.
