'Hobbs and Shaw' - which sounds like it could be an early '90s BBC period comedy-drama - has found its villain in Idris Elba.

Dwayne Johnson posted his thoughts on the casting, saying that Elba's "a bad man" and that he himself needs to "toughen up" for the role. No plot details surrounding Elba's character have been revealed as of yet, however Vanessa Kirby of 'The Crown' fame was announced as joining the cast as Jason Statham's on-screen sister just the other day.

Elba is no stranger to villainous roles, having played the baddie in 'Star Trek Beyond' and in Disney's live-action hybrid of 'The Jungle Book', where he played Shere Khan. Elba recently completed his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Heimdall, where his character was killed off - along with nearly everyone else's - in 'Avengers: Infinity War' and will have his directorial debut later this year with 'Yardie', based on the bestselling novel of the same name.

'Deadpool 2' director David Leitch has been tapped to direct the 'Fast and Furious' spinoff with franchise veteran Chris Morgan working on the screenplay for a release date of July 26th, 2019.
