It's going from bad to worse for the IFTAs.

We reported a few weeks ago that RTE has decided to pull IFTAs '15 from their schedule, prompting an outburst from IFTA, calling it "disgraceful".

At today's launch, the issue of the Irish Film Board funding IFTA came up for discussion.

Speaking at the launch of the annual report, IFB chief James Hickey said that they "are not committed to any particular set of arrangements with anybody."

Furthermore, Hickey said that if "award ceremonies don't promote film well, it's not good for the industry from our point of view."

In a statement, IFTA Chief Executive Aine Moriarty said that they were in discussions with the IFB regarding the 12th Annual Ceremony.

The statement reads:

"The Academy is in discussions with the Irish Film Board regarding the 12th annual Awards Ceremony in 2015 with an exciting and alternative new format with a new Broadcasting partner to showcase the industry. Having undertaken a full review of last year’s Production, the plans being considered are fresh and dynamic and we look forward to discussing further with the IFB, which has been the standard process over the past 11 years between the Academy and the IFB."
