I Spit On Your Grave And Amityville Remade

30 November 2009

Empire online are reporting through two separate horror sites, that remakes for horror flicks, I Spit On Your Grave and The Amityville Horror are happening - with the former already in production.

I Spit On Your Grave is a generally nasty piece of work, where a woman is basically gang raped for an uncomfortably long amount of screentime. Understandably filled with rage when she survives the attack, she tracks down the bastards that did it, and exacts her revenge in fairly graphic manner. I do recall one scene where one of the aforementioned bastards had his tackle removed during a nice warm bath. A chap by the name of Steven R. Monroe is directing, and promised to make it "more violent and graphic." Sounds just like the recent remake of Last House On The Left, which was a sterling and underrated piece of work - seek it out on DVD, folks.

The Amityville Horror remake will completely ignore the events of the Ryan Reynolds starring (first) remake and start afresh. The Reynolds version was crap, but the original was no great shakes either. The fourth one was about an evil lamp, though, which in synopsis alone is entertaining.
