After many denials and supposed confirmations, it's taken a custom leather bag to acknowledge something we've suspected for quite a while - Hugh Jackman WILL be in X-Men: Apocalypse.

A leather company shared an image of a leather bag they're making for Wolverine, confirming that he's to begin filming on-set in Montreal.

This tracks with everything we've heard up until now, i.e. that Jackman has two X-Men movies left in his contract and then he's out.

Already, there's been murmurings that the final standalone Wolverine movie will focus on the character as an elder, essentially the 'Old Man Logan' storyline from the comics.

Jackman joins a cast of familiar faces like Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult as well as newcomers Game of Thrones' Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, The Road's Kodi Smith-McPhee as Nightcrawler and Mud's Tye Sheridan as Cyclops.

You've got to hand it to Jackman - he's really worked his ass off at making X-Men into a global franchise and, at 46, it's got to take a toll on his body - what with all the insane, intense training he does for it.

He deserves a break after X-Men: Apocalypse and Wolverine III.

X-Men: Apocalypse is slated for a Summer 2016 release with the final Wolverine standalone pencilled in for 2017.
