Stating it right now that, outside of Batman Forever, the '60s Batman was the funniest Batman to watch.

Batman & Robin, no. That was trying way too hard. In any case, '60s Batman with Adam West and Burt Ward has become something of an unlikely cult phenomenon, primarily because it was so far ahead of its time. The Batman of the '60s was aware of just how ridiculous and camp it was and was, essentially, sending itself up at every opportunity.

It enjoyed a huge amount of popularity during its initial run and was responsible for solidifying Batman in the popular consciousness for many years. In fact, there's a great documentary about Adam West's career on Netflix that you should really check out if you're into all of that kinda jazz.

At 87, it's a bit much to expect that Adam West can comfortably dive into the cowl of Batman and start hanging out the side of buildings again - hence why his and Burt Ward's return is being done through animation. Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders is a straight-to-video ode to the '60s Batman and features the voices of West as Batman, Ward as Robin and Julie Newmar as Catwoman.

Cesar Romero, Frank Gorshin and Burgess Meredith - who played Joker, Riddler and Penguin - have both sadly passed, so that means they'll have to be recast if they're going to feature.

Here's the trailer.
