What's been particularly fascinating about 'Halloween' isn't just the fact that John Carpenter's on board and Jamie Lee Curtis is reprising her role as Laurie Strode, it's how they're really changing up the dynamic. Laurie isn't running from Michael Myers anymore, she's actively hunting him because she wants to finish what she started.
Considering that 'Halloween' started the slasher genre, it almost feels like it's doing an 'Unforgiven' on it - and that's not just counting the rifle she's firing off either. The idea of inverting the entire dynamic and that it appears to be Jamie Lee Curtis' final performance in the role, there's a lot to be excited about.
