In the heyday of Hollywood in the 90s, we were used to hearing about how the like of Tom Cruise and Kevin Costner were taking home megabucks per movie released (regardless of whether or not it was any good *cough* Waterworld *cough*), but that all dwindled what with the Wall Street crash and other financial disasters and strikes in the last 15 years. Or so we thought until we found out how much Hollywood's elite were getting for their prowess and star power on screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, DiCaprio is Hollywood's top earner and took in $25 million upfront for The Wolf of Wall Street, and sits in a "$20 million club" alongside Robert Downey Jr., Sandra Bullock, Angelina Jolie, Denzel Washington and Matt Damon, but only depending on what type of movie they're in (franchise appearances for Downey as 'Iron Man' and Damon as 'Jason Bourne' net them a whole lot more cash than more offbeat fodder such as The Judge and The Monuments Men).

Sitting just outside the $20 million club door are Channing Tatum, Ben Affleck, Bradley Cooper and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, who apparently all sit pretty in and around the $15 million mark. And as for the women, they're right up their with the boys. Maybe not in the same league as DiCaprio just yet, this is an industry run by the white male after all, but they're getting there.

Between Jolie's reported $15 Million for Maleficent, Bullock's $20 million for Gravity (which she made an additional $50 million on after profits thanks to the sweetest deal of her life), Melissa McCarthy getting $10 million per role (we know, we're surprised too) and Jennifer Lawrence's megastar status and $10 million paycheck for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the ladies sure are holding their own.

Do you think any of them would but up for spotting us a few quid?
