All eyes were on the 2018 Golden Globes last night as hundreds of attendees donned black to support the Time's Up movement but when it came to actual awards, all anyone on this island cared about was whether or not Saoirse Ronan was going to take home a statue for 'Lady Bird'.

That she did, and in her speech (which began with a shout out to her mam watching on FaceTime on someone's phone) she thanked "all of the women who I love so much in my own life who support me every single day" before rushing off because the show was in overtime before she even got up there.

Elsewhere, Martin McDonagh took home a Golden Globe for his screenplay for 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri' as well as the award for Best Picture, Drama, a win that surprised many, while Frances McDormand and Sam Rockwell also took home awards for their parts in the film meaning that McDonagh's film was the biggest winner of the night.

Does this mean Oscars are on the horizon? We'll have to wait and see.
