Gary Ross To Replace Hunger Games 2 With Houdini Flick?

HarryH

Hunger Games director Gary Ross is looking likely to swap a sequel of 'Games' for a tale of legendary magician and illusionist, Harry Houdini.

The Hollywood Reporter is saying that Ross is circling the project for the same studio that made The Hunger Games, Summit. The film will be based on William Kalush and Larry Sloman’s book The Secret Life Of Houdini, The Making Of America’s First Superhero which apparently insinuated that Houdini was in a fact a spy for various government intelligence offices - both US and British.

It would be a plum role for any actor and Ross is known for scripting his own material. He's also inundated with choice after the huge success of 'Games' so may take his time committing to anything. I Am Legend helmer Francis Lawrence took the gig of directing sequel Catching Fire, and a fine choice he was too.
