It's kind of oddly fitting that a character like Spider-Man should have another iteration of itself that readily reckons with just how many iterations of the character they've been.

in fact, 'Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse' seems to embrace just how dense it all is, and how there's been multiple Spider-Men before and after itself. Not only that, the animation from this full trailer really embraces just how disparate and different is, which is pretty welcome considering it could have totally gone in a very bland, conventional way.

It's the same with the voice cast, too. You've got 'New Girl' alum Jake Johnson playing Peter Parker, 'Atlanta' breakout star Brian Tyree Henry as Miles Morales' father, Liev Schrieber playing Wilson Fisk, Lily Tomlin (!) playing Aunt May and you've got Hailee Steinfeld playing Spider-Gwen.

'Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse' arrives in Irish cinemas on December 14th.
