Lenny Abrahamson has put together quite the cast for his next big outing, Frank. The film tells the story of a young wannabe musician called Jon (Domhnall Gleeson) who finds himself a little out of his depth among a band of eccentric pop musicians led by the mysterious titular character, Frank (Michael Fassbender). We hope we'll be seeing his face somewhere along the way.

The Men Who Stare At Goats screenwriter Jon Ronson teams up with Peter Straughan on the script which is based on a memoir Ronson wrote himself. It's a fictional story that's loosely inspired by Frank Sidebottom, the alternative persona of cult musician and comedian Chris Sievey and outsider musicians like Daniel Johnston and Captain Beefheart.

Maggie Gyllenhaal co-stars as Frank's scary sidekick Clara and the gang have just started filming in New Mexico this week. Scoot McNairy (Argo), musician Carla Azar ( you'll find her on Jack White's Blunderbuss) and French actor/musician Francois Civil make up the ensemble. We can't wait to see how this one turns out.
