Domhnall Gleeson's career seems to be heading for bigger and better things with every role, from starring alongside Tom Cruise in American Made to playing one of the lead villains in The Force Awakens.

In a recent interview with RadioTimes however, Domhnall made clear he wasn't immediately happy about the idea of taking on the role of General Hux - and definitely had second thoughts about the whole thing, especially considering he's the son of a famous actor.

"Why would I have thought of saying no? Fame is the end goal for a lot of people but it is not mine. I worried that the accompanying fame would get in the way of how I live my life."

"It got a little crazy for a couple of months – for a while, going out and having a drink with my friends was difficult, and then it died down," said Gleeson. Considering how popular he's become in the last couple of years, it's really no surprise that things went that way.

Goodbye Christopher Robin is currently in Irish cinemas.
