Not only did Domhnall Pick up his dad's Best Supporting Actor gong for 'Suffragette', he also found time to dutifully accept Tom Hardy's award for Best Actor ('Legend'). While Domhnall didn't win anything himself, he was thoroughly involved. While accepting on behalf of dad Brendan, Domhnall said: "Thank you for giving it not to me but to my f**king father!"

Other Irish winners on the night include Saorise Ronan, who took home Best Actress for Brooklyn, Olivia Coleman won Best Supporting Actress for Irish co-production The Lobster (tenuous, but there is an Irish connection), while Best International Film gong was taken home by Room, produced/directed by Ed Guiney, David Gross, Emma Donoghue, and Lenny Abrahamson.
