‘The greatest hero of them all’ is getting his own flick.

Hasbro toy Action Man, which is essentially the British version of G.I Joe, was created in the 1960’s and went on to become hugely successful, spawning a range of characters and accessories.

It’s been adapted for screen several times but mainly for television. A big screen version has been in the works since 2012 and it looks like we’re finally getting places.

Bobin, who has directed Alice Through the Looking Glass and Muppets, will take the chair with Paddington 2 writer Simon Farnaby penning the script.

Hasbro and Paramount have previously collaborated on movies G.I Joe: Rise of the Cobra and its follow-up Retaliation.
