It's early days yet and it hasn't been officially confirmed, but it looks like David Fincher is out and Danny Boyle is in for the as-yet untitled Steve Jobs biopic.
It appears that the Gone Girl director has been replaced by Danny Boyle after the studio in charge of the production could not meet Fincher's demand for full creative control AND a $10,000,000 salary.
This wouldn't be the first time Boyle has tackled a biopic, directing 127 Hours with James Franco and scoring more than a few Oscar nominations for it in the process.
The screenplay, written by The Social Network's Aaron Sorkin, will tell the story of Steve Jobs and his unusual career path at Apple Inc.
Ashton Kutcher starred in a similar film with a similar topic, jOBS - however nobody watched it because it's pretty terrible.
As for the Aaron Sorkin version, nobody has been cast as yet but we'd like to see someone like Daniel Day-Lewis give it a twirl because, let's face it, he's amazing.
However, THR reports that Leonard DiCaprio is also in the running so there's that.
Personally, we think Day-Lewis is a better fit and we'd have an easier time buying Day-Lewis in the role as opposed to DiCaprio. That's not to say he isn't a great actor, because he is.
We just think DDL is a far better fit for it.
No release date has been announced for the film, however it's expected at some stage in 2016.
