UPDATE! Here's how you can get yer mits on some tickets. Courtesy of Ray D'Arcy's Today FM blog:

Guests can secure a table for ten people for €1,600. 80% of tables have already been sold and all proceeds will go towards building the long-awaited Wicklow Hospice facility at Magheramore, just outside Wicklow Town. https://www.wicklowhospice.ie/Uploads/LINCOLNBookingForm.pdf

No stranger to celebs, once again Ireland will play host to some of the greatest names in the business as we welcome the arrival of Lincoln to our cinemas next month. Arriving into Dublin town for this special red carpet occasion will be our very own Daniel Day-Lewis - I wonder if he has ever actually ridden on a Luas? - and the critically acclaimed Steven Spielberg. The legendary Oscar winning Sally Field will also join them.

Following the star studded premiere on January 20th at Dublin's Savoy, Day-lewis is said to be hosting a Lincoln themed ball at the fancy schmancy Burlington Hotel to raise much needed funds for the new Wicklow Hospice in Magheramore near his Wicklow home. Reported by The Independent, Daniel is said to be doing this as he was so impressed with how well his late mother was treated when being cared for at a similar facility in the UK.

The star, who was recently named "the world's greatest living actor" by Time magazine, has invited the full cast of 'Lincoln' to the gala. Hold on a tic there while I freak out with the following conceivable notion - DOES THIS MEAN JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT WILL COME? Well, we're not quite sure yet. Joe along with Tommy Lee Jones, Hal Holbrook and the rest of the gang have all been invited but we'll have to wait and see who turns up. I'll be lurking in the bushes outside if you care to join me. A few other 'surprise' celebritites have also yet to confirm their attendance. As for raising the funds for the hospice, Day-Lewis has organised an auction in which various memorabilia from the movie, along with his Lincoln costume, a signed original script and 15-litre bottle of Moet and Chandon champagne signed by the cast will be up for grabs.
