When people say there are no more original ideas or that Hollywood is just reboot after reboot, point them towards Cowboy Ninja Viking and ask them if they still think that's true.

Yes, Chris Pratt has now signed on for a film about an assassin with multiple-personality disorder who manifests three distinct personalities - one of a cowboy, the other of a ninja, and the third of a viking. Think something like M. Night Shyamalan's Split, but instead of James McAvoy trapping young women in his house, it's him going around murdering people for money.

A film has been in the works since 2014, according to THR, however Universal is said to be slating Cowboy Ninja Viking for June 28th, 2019 - even though no director has attached themselves to the project as of yet. Pratt, as we know, is one of the most in-demand actors working today. As well as playing a key role in Avengers: Infinity War, he's also got the sequel to Jurassic World lined up and, of course, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 at some point in the future as well.

So, thoughts on Cowboy Ninja Viking? None yet, because a lot of this is going to depend on a director and a script that can make something as stupid as this seem plausible or at least entertaining. Sure, Chris Pratt starring in it is interesting and it's clear that he's able to open a film and people turn up, but this just sounds a little bit too much like Cowboys & Aliens - and we all know how that turned out.
