Brie Larson, lead of ‘Captain Marvel’, has revealed that the upcoming Marvel movie wrapped its shoot last weekend.

The Oscar-winning actress posted the below on Instagram, depicting an autographed ‘Captain Marvel’ clapperboard alongside a decorated calendar announcing that July 6th was the final day of filming.

Larson has been an advocate for other Marvel movies too, taking to Twitter last February to ask those who could afford to buy extra cinema tickets for ‘Black Panther’ to ‘pay it forward’ and buy tickets for those who couldn’t.

Aside from the ‘Room’ star, ‘Captain Marvel’ also stars Samuel L. Jackson, reprising the role of Nick Fury, Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson (both of whom are believed to be digitally de-aged for the 1990s-set film), Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, and Jude Law.

The film was recently described by its screenwriter Geneva Robertson-Dworet as an “action-comedy” but the studio is keeping its lips tight on any plot details.

Some images from the set were unveiled earlier this year.

The film is Marvel’s first female-led superhero movie and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said back in May that he also hopes to make a film based on the character Ms. Marvel, who the Captain Marvel character is a mentor to.

‘Captain Marvel’ is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.

The movie marks the penultimate installment of MCU’s Phase 3 before 'Avengers 4'. The next Marvel movie to hit cinemas will be ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ on August 3rd.

'Captain Marvel' is scheduled to be released in Irish cinemas on March 8th, 2019. The first trailer will debut later this year.
