Bond girl Berenice Marlohe to play The Joker? Eh, no thanks.

Woah there Nelly; hold your horses. You did well to be a Bond girl, don't even think about being the next Batman villain. Yes, the very attractive Bérénice Marlohe has said that she would love to play the Joker in the next Batman movie. Hate to break it to you, love, but you're on your own there. Speaking to FHM, the Skyfall star revealed that she's already been practising her best Joker impression in front of the mirror. "I would love to be the Joker in the next Batman... I've done a reel where I've played the Joker. The kind of roles I really enjoy most of all are given to men usually." Umm, can we see it please?

So besides the Joker, what else are you thinking here Berenice? "Like Gary Oldman in The Firm. He was so great in that, and that's the kind of character I like - a bit crazy and intense on screen... I have always dreamed of being the bad guys in the movie. You know, the mafia chief. That would be my dream."

Right, who's going to write a script wherein Berenice Marlohe plays a mafia chief? Any takers? No? We can't help but think it'd be akin to Penelope Cruz's turn as the villain in Pirates of The Carribean. Something we'd all rather forget.

I can't understand why the joker couldn't be a woman? Would you argue if the character was made a different race?

Berenice hasn't really done enough to be judged as a potentially good version of The Joker. Besides, anyone who has to follow in the footsteps of Heath Ledger is going to have a lot to live up to. It's not about a woman playing The Joker, it's about whether or not she's a good enough actress to play it well.
