Blanchett And Wasikowska To Star In Carol For Irish Helmer Crowley
Two very talented Austalian actresses Cate Blanchett and Mia Wasikowska, are being lined up to star in a new adaptation of Talented Mr. Ripley author Patricia Highsmith’s Carol says Deadline.com.
The drama will centre on the "complex relationship between two very different women in 1950s New York. One is a twenty-something girl working in a department store who dreams of a more fulfilling life, the other is a wife trapped in a loveless marriage." Production is set to take place in London and New York, with Boy A director (and Irishman) John Crowley calling the shots on the interesting sounding production.
Two cracking actresses and an adult, meaty sounding plot. Looking forward to seeing this. Congrats to Crowley on the gig too.
