In case you missed it, the official trailer for ‘A Simple Favour’ starring Blake Lively (who is currently in Dublin shooting scenes for her new film ‘The Rhythm Section’) and Anna Kendrick dropped last weekend and it has us intrigued.

The film is directed by Paul Feig, best-known as the director of ‘Bridesmaids’ and the 'Ghostbusters' reboot (and as Mr. Pool in ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’), and according to the plot synopsis: “centers around Stephanie (Kendrick), a mommy vlogger who seeks to uncover the truth behind her best friend Emily's (Lively) sudden disappearance from their small town.

“Stephanie is joined by Emily's husband Sean (Henry Golding) in this stylish thriller filled with twists and betrayals, secrets and revelations, love and loyalty, murder and revenge.”

In the trailer, we can see Kendrick and Lively’s characters bond over gin and tonics while their young sons hang out with one another.

The film is based on the novel of the same name by Darcey Bell with a screenplay from Jessica Sharzer, who worked on the Showtime drama series ‘The L Word’ and the FX horror series ‘American Horror Story.’

Sounds like all the ingredients for a class movie and the trailer should have you as intrigued as us.

‘A Simple Favour’ hits Irish cinemas on September 21st of this year.
