'Black Panther' breakout star Winston Duke - who played M'Baku - has signed on to play MMA legend Kimbo Slice in an upcoming biopic based on the fighter's life and career.

The film doesn't have a director attached as of yet, however 'White Boy Rick' scribe Andy Weiss is set to pen the screenplay and will follow Slice's early fights on YouTube right through to his MMA stardom and his eventual death in 2016. Slice - real name Kevin Ferguson - was born in the Bahamas and worked as a nightclub bouncer before becoming more involved with the burgeoning MMA scene.

Michael Imber, who was Slice's manager, will serve as executive producer. In a statement to Deadline, Duke said that he is "looking forward to exploring Kimbo’s story and interrogating the expectations society places on men like him who are their own special breed of hero."

Since the success of 'Black Panther', Duke has signed on for Jordan Peele's follow-up to 'Get Out' with fellow 'Black Panther' star Lupita Nyong'o.

No release date has been set on the Kimbo Slice biopic.
