There's no denying that Barry Keoghan's having a pretty meteoric rise at the moment.

In the space of four years, he's gone from Love/Hate to starring in one of the biggest films of the year, Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk, and is shows no signs of stopping. As well as making gigantic blockbusters, Keoghan also has Yorgos Lanthimos' The Killing Of A Sacred Deer, and the Irish quasi-Western Black 47 with Hugo Weaving and Jim Broadbent.

It's pretty eclectic, but there's one role that Keoghan has his eye on - Robin. Yes, Robin from Batman and Robin.

Not only that, it's something he's been pretty vocal about.

As Keoghan brought up in our interview with him, "I've always said Robin is one I'd love to do, I know everyone wants to be Batman, but there's something interesting in him. He's young, he's always try impress Batman." When asked on whether or not he'd talked to anyone, Keoghan was somewhat coy.

So, could it actually happen? It's quite possible, to be honest.

Pre-production is underway for The Batman and it's understood that a totally new script is being worked up for Matt Reeves, so it's entirely possible that it might focus in on Robin and his hinted-at demise in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice. Not only that, Keoghan is on the up-and-up and putting a young actor like him against someone experienced like Ben Affleck could work.

If there's a role there for Robin in Matt Reeves' The Batman, Keoghan should definitely be in the conversation.
