In the worst movie news you're likely to hear all year, it seems Magic Mike 3 (or Magic Mike Supersize Me; that's what we imagined the third instalment to be called) is not going to happen. Not now, not ever.

Way to ruin our Monday, Channing. If you weren't so God damn likeable.

The painfully attractive and talented actor spoke to a predominantly female audience at Cannes Lions. Instead, the focus will now shift towards the live shows, which - we've been promised before - will feature a heap of cameos from the movie's leading men, including Tatum himself 'if he's ever in shape enough to actually do the show again'. Oh lol, Channing, how you make us laugh. Before, 30 quid would get you a night out to see Magic Mike XXL, some treats and a drink; now you'll have to book flights to Vegas for more of the action. Rage.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "The third instalment will be the show, and I think it has to evolve past these guys. The first one was about Mike, the second one was about the guys and I think the third one is really about man and woman having a conversation about sex and themselves and who we all are. That's the next step I would like to take with the story."

How many signatures do you reckon we'd need to get him to bring it to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre?
