The band members are taking their former motto of ‘Girl Power’ literally.

Since late last year, rumours were abound that 90s girl band The Spice Girls was making a comeback and the rumour mill went into overdrive when the five women hung out together last February.

Since then there’s been talk of a performance at the Royal Wedding, and a world tour among other things, but any confirmations are being shut down as quickly as they emerge.

Now it looks like, according to Variety, the reunion between Victoria Beckham (“Posh Spice”), Melanie Brown (“Scary Spice”), Emma Bunton (“Baby Spice”), Melanie Chisholm (“Sporty Spice”) and Geri Halliwell (“Ginger Spice”) is taking the form of an animated film project.

All five members have reportedly signed off on their likenesses being used for the movie where they’ll be voicing themselves. The movie will have a strong “girl power” message with each superheroine having a “girl power” unique to her own personality.

A source told Variety that the girls are committed to the animated superhero concept and even “fired up about the idea,” adding, “The Spice Girls are thinking big in terms of a franchise on a global scale. They’re the most successful girl group on the planet. It’s just what Marvel or Disney needs.”
