Disney have had good fortune in the past with the story of St. Nick and now they're going back to the well, albeit for a very different take on the story.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Anna Kendrick is in talks to play a female version of the character in a new movie from the studio titled, Nicole.
The movie is to be directed by Marc Lawrence who's feature film directing resumé to date consists exclusively of romantic comedies starring Hugh Grant. Lawrence is also on scripting duties for the film.
Kendrick has had successful dealings with Disney in the past, starring as Cinderella in the excellent Into the Woods. She was most recently seen in opposite Ben Affleck in The Accountant and heard in Trolls. She's just gone into production on Pitch Perfect 3 so if she does sign on for Nicole, don't expect cameras to roll on this one until much later in the year.
