Amour and Shame win big at the 2012 European Film Awards

Amour

This weekend saw the annual European Film Awards take place, 2012 marking the 25th of its kind. More than 2,700 members of the European Film Academy - made up of filmmakers from across Europe - cast their vote and the following list presents those that reigned supreme. Having scooped the palme d'Or at this year's Cannes Film Festival - joining rank with previous winners such as Pulp Fiction, The Piano and last year's The Tree of Life - it's no surprise to see Michael Haneke's Amour trump the rest here. Not the most uplifting of movies you'll see this year, but a bloody good one all the same.
