Amazing Spider-Man Director Talks Possible Sequels

I really think Marc Webb is an impressive young director. From his fine music video work (check out the All American Rejects promo for 'Move Along'), to his debut feature, (500) Days of Summer - he's stood out for one to watch for a while now. Webb does a solid job of The Amazing Spider-Man and has been waxing lyrical about possible sequels.

The director told Heat Vision, "I wanted to create a universe that works in and of itself for one movie, but I wanted to create a universe that not only can withstand but anticipate future storylines. Movies like this tend to have sequels, [although] ultimately the audience will tell us if they want one. But I kind of thought it was an interesting thing to anticipate those storylines and think about the back stories and how we can parlay those into an ongoing story." The film is plainly set-up for a sequel, as you'd expect with a reboot of a popular Marvel hero, and he obviously made the exact type of movie that Sony wanted him to.

It's released here in Ireland today, so make sure to let us know what you think when you do see it.
