The Alicia Vikander starring Tomb Raider reboot has been given an official release date.

The Warner Bros. film which will see Vikander take over the role of Lara Croft from Angelina Jolie, will be arriving in movie theaters on March 16th 2018.

The Tomb Raider reboot had been in the works for quite a while and at one point earlier this year it was rumoured that Daisy Ridley was circling the role but Oscar winner Alicia has since been cast and production plans have gone full speed ahead ever since that announcement.

One downside to the Tomb Raider news is that it likely means a delayed release date for Ezra Miller's The Flash standalone movie. Barry Allen's first big screen solo outing was rumoured to get that March 16th release date but considering the recent change in director and the fact that both films are from Warner Bros. it's unlikely that will be the case. Though there's yet to be an official announcement.
