Copyright filings in the European Union have to go through an open process and, as a result, all filings are eventually published for all to see.

We discussed the topic before on a podcast with copyright solicitor Brian Conroy of Rennicks and one of the things Brian pointed out was that companies aren't supposed to make these filings unless they specifically plan to use them in some way.

In other words, it's entirely possible that the Star Wars title uncovered will be used - if not as the title for Episode VIII, it'll be used in some other way. The copyright filing's timing is also an interesting one, as we're less than five days away from Rogue One's release and a teaser for Episode VIII is expected any day now.

You're still waiting on the title, right? Well, here it is.

Star Wars: Forces Of Destiny.

...

Yeah, it's... well, it seems a bit much putting Force after Force. The last film was The Force Awakens, so having another one right after it is a bit odd. Like we said, these copyright filings can be filed pretty easily and, very often, they're done as a precautionary measure by major brands.

In other words, they'll file any and all variations on a name and subsequent products, tie-ins, literally anything that can be attached to it. According to AVS Forums, where this rumour originated, more than 2,000 items were attached to this title - ranging from staplers all the way up to Christmas decorations - so it's clearly going to be used for something.

What do you think? Does it sound like a good title? Let us know in the comments!
