YouTube isn't just for viral videos, clips of late night shows and Game of Thrones theories.

YouTube Movies launched in 2011 and while it's not the first place you might think for streaming films, it's actually got a pretty decent selection. Most films can be either rented or bought with prices starting at €2.99. Here are 10 of the best films available on YouTube, this list might come in handy if you're looking for something to watch this winter.

Baby Driver

Baby Driver was one of the surprise hits of the summer that had some of the best action sequences of the year. The car chases, perfectly choreographed to an excellent soundtrack, are reason enough to watch. If you missed it during the summer, be sure to check it out.

If you often complain that all superhero films are the same, Logan might be the one to change your mind. It's a western inspired affair that deals with aging, alcoholism and legacy. If Logan was Hugh Jackman's last film as Wolverine, it wasn't a bad way to sign off.


Hunt For The Wilderpeople

Hunt For The Wilderpeople was Taika Waititi's last film in his native New Zealand before he joined the MCU. Part drama, part comedy it's about a rebellious kid and his foster uncle who go missing in the wild New Zealand bush. Waititi expertly juggles the laughs and the more meaningful moments, and you'll see why he was the perfect choice to take on Thor.

La La Land

The big winner at this year's Oscars is finally available to watch at home. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling star as Mia and Sebastian, an aspiring actress and pianist, who fall in love while trying to make it big in Hollywood. It's a throwback to the golden age of musicals that will have you tapping dancing around the living room. It's also the perfect film to put on if you're looking for something to watch with the whole family over Christmas.


The Magnificent Seven

We don't mean the 2016 remake starring Chris Pratt and Denzel Washington, we're talking about the 1960 original starring Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen and Charles Bronson. It's a Hollywood classic that you have to see at least once, and a great option if you have your Dad or Grandad around for Christmas.

Love and Friendship

Based on the Jane Austen novella 'Lady Susan, Love and Friendship is a small scale film that succeeds thanks to its wonderful, witty dialogue and an incredible performance from Kate Beckinsale in the lead role. If you're in the mood for a costume drama, make sure to check this out.

Super 8

If you've finished watching Stranger Things and you're looking for something to fill the void, this might be the film for you. JJ Abrams channels 1980s Steven Spielberg in this supernatural mystery focusing on a group of outcast kids in a small town. Sound familiar? It's an entertaining watch that will keep the children amused on a rainy afternoon.
