Although we were pretty big fans of The Last Jedi, there's always going to be people who disagree and share a completely different view.

With Star Wars, of course, there's always going to be that little bit more involved fandom who take it very seriously, and have very clear ideas about what Star Wars is and what it isn't. So it should come as absolutely no surprise that a petition has been started to have The Last Jedi removed from the official Star Wars canon. What's more, as of writing, they've collected 30,487 signatures in its support.

The description for the petition reads, "Episode VIII was a travesty. It completely destroyed the legacy of Luke Skywalker and the Jedi. It destroyed the very reasons most of us, as fans, liked Star Wars," before going on to ask Disney to "push back Episode IX and re-make Episode VIII properly to redeem Luke Skywalker's legacy, integrity, and character."

Not asking for much, are they? As it stands, The Last Jedi / Episode VIII has now made over $450 million worldwide and was only topped in a number of box office records by The Force Awakens. Of course, the real test will come in its second week and whether or not it holds over, but for now, don't expect Disney to pay a huge amount of attention to this.
